Employee SpotlightEmilie Fuller

MEET EMILIE

Project Manager | Greenville, SC

That moment when a creative solution to a challenge pops in my head and everything lines up and it just clicks – I live for moments like that!

What is your role at Array? What is a typical day like for you?

Being an East Coast employee that mainly supports portfolio accounts around the US, with the majority currently being West Coast, I get to enjoy quiet mornings and ease into my workday. While available to support in the mornings, my full day doesn’t usually start off until closer to noon. From then my day involves handling a range of requests that fall into the EDRM Model starting at coordinating collections through productions, and includes a variety of Relativity admin tasks and workflow building/consultation. I do trade my often-quiet mornings for work that carries into the evening, but it works great for me (hello to all the other natural night owls out there) and it helps me with my work-life balance.

Why do you do this type of work? What do you like about your job?

I love the variety of my day to day – my days are never monotonous as they have been for me in other careers.

I love being presented with challenges – well, let’s be honest, what I really love is when I can solve the challenge. I enjoy the task of figuring out if there is a way to solve an issue while still maintaining defensibility, efficiency, and budget.

That moment when a creative solution to a challenge pops in my head and everything lines up and it just clicks – I live for moments like that! And sometimes there are challenges which do not have a viable solution or can be done but it is not proportional to the needs of the case. It is important to be able to identify if the expense of the solution outweighs its likely benefit and keep that in mind while navigating the creative process in building a solution.

What is an example of your most creative or impactful work? (Tell us about a time you went above and beyond or met a unique challenge)

A client needed a unique way to display information on documents and utilizing a custom field along with footer branding helped us find a workable solution that was very low-cost for the client in lieu of manual work going document by document.

What do you think is the “Array advantage”? Why do clients trust Array?

I think a large advantage Array has is our people. We have an amazing set of minds that work together seamlessly and in turn we can provide great service to our clients (which is something that is very important to me) while being truly mindful of providing employees with a work-life balance. I believe clients trust Array because we prove our worth while providing great value.

Describe Array in five words or less.

People. Service. Excellence.

What did you do before Array? How do you apply that experience to your work today?

I started in the eDiscovery industry in January 2006 in the Coding department of an eDiscovery vendor. I love learning and I grew my skills as I followed that love of learning to Hosting and QC before moving into Project Management and becoming an RCA. My journey in the industry has taken me to companies and managers where I have learned great problem-solving and communication skills. These are skills I not only utilize daily, but that I continue to grow as well.

What are you most likely up to when you are off-the-clock?

I have a teenager in a sport that keeps me very active with him on the weekends. I volunteer as Admin and Assistant Coach with his youth team. When I’m not working, I’m likely out on a sporting clay course working with kids or traveling to a competition.

What is something that would surprise people about you?

I have a love of languages – in high school I took Spanish, French, and Russian (where I met a wonderful friend of mine from Ukraine who was an exchange student at the time). My love of languages almost carried me into Web Design and HTML coding in college.

What is the most recent thing you learned about or taught yourself to do? (does not have to be work related)

Thanks to the popularity of all things Wordle-ish, I have started playing a daily game of Worldle - thanks, Emerald! It shows you the shape of a country/territory and you guess based on that information alone. Italy was easy, the island of Diego Garcia not so much. Your guesses show you how close you were to the location of the country, which allows you to continue to guess and get closer and hopefully figure it out. I thought I knew my geography before, but this has proven to me that I had much to learn and is providing a fun avenue to do so.
