How did Celerity Discovery Start?

Celerity Discovery grew out of a deep history in consulting, damage analysis, and information management, eventually evolving into a firm specializing in eDiscovery and structured data solutions. Over the years, the team has supported law firms, corporations, and government entities, handling complex and high-profile matters such as environmental litigation, class actions, and large-scale regulatory investigations.

Damon emphasizes that Celerity Discovery has always been about more than just standard eDiscovery. “Our clients rely on us because we can find, extract, and analyze all types of data—structured, unstructured, and non-traditional—and correlate it to help tell a story or prove a point,” he explains.

What changes have you seen in the litigation support industry over your career?

“When I started, tools and technologies in forensic and legal services were just emerging,” Damon says. “All work was local, with no online hosting or cloud capabilities. Data came from computers, servers, and paper documents. Today, data lives everywhere—mobile, collaboration platforms, social media, cloud services—and volumes continue to grow into millions or even billions of records.”

This evolution has shifted the focus from simply gathering data to drawing meaningful insights from it, a shift Celerity Discovery has embraced.

Where do you see the industry heading in the next five years?

“Unsurprisingly, AI,” Damon says. “We’ve used traditional forms of AI in our industry for over a decade, but Generative AI—and the case-specific ways it’s being implemented—will be transformative. For Gen AI, five years is a drawn-out timeline. This technology will continue to evolve year to year, if not sooner.”

What led to Celerity Discovery joining Array?
